{"id":182,"date":"2011-01-20T13:58:02","date_gmt":"2011-01-20T21:58:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookingwithedie.com\/?p=179"},"modified":"2011-01-20T13:58:02","modified_gmt":"2011-01-20T21:58:02","slug":"179","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookingwithedie.com\/?p=182","title":{"rendered":"Lemon Chiffon Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-182\" title=\"lemons\" src=\"http:\/\/cookingwithedie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lemons1.jpg?w=297\" alt=\"Lemons\" width=\"297\" height=\"300\" \/>Anything made with Lemon is a big hit with my dad. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a recipe for a Lemon Chiffon Cake<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups cake flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp finely grated lemon zest<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>6 large egg whites<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup lemon glaze (Read below for recipe)<\/li>\n<li>Shredded lemon zest to decorate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Preheat the oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit. Butter and flour a 10-inch Bundt or tube pan. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar. Add the oil, lemon zest and juice and milk.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Beat the egg whites in a large bowl with an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form. Use a large rubber spatula to fold them into the batter. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Bake for 55-65 minutes or until springy to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Turn out onto a rack and let cool completely. Turn top side up and drizzle with the glaze. Decorate with the lemon zest.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Lemon Glaze Recipe:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> 2 cups icing sugar<\/li>\n<li> 4-5 tbsp fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n<li> 1 1\/2 tsp finely grated lemon zest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Place the icing sugar in a medium bowl.
